NEWSLETTER No. 2
(12th July, 2010)

Since our first (and last newsletter) dated 1st February 2008, lots have transpired at AUDIO SYNERGY!!

Clifford has spent considerable time and effort researching circuitries, components, etc. etc. which have resulted in the production of:
(a) FAL Speakers;
(b) P300Bs;
(c) Balanced Interconnects;
(d)  Power Cables;

FAL Speakers:
There have been many visitors to AUDIO SYNERGY  who have had the privilege of listening to these floor standing speakers which have been built for a Specialist who has kindly consented to leave his speakers “on our floor”, whilst his other components are being crafted (of course by AUDIO SYNERGY )!! In fact we were pleasantly surprised to learn that these FAL speakers were a talking point on the “Stereonet” forum website.
These speakers are by no means affordable to the masses as the drivers are costly (understandably, as these are extremely well crafted by the Japanese).
These high sensitivity (@ 98db) speakers are driven by a P300B amplifier. In addition to this, we have incorporated a RAAL ribbon tweeter into the system.

P300Bs:
In pursuit of the holographic sound of 300Bs and inspired by the much respected craftsman, the late Kondo (of Audio Note fame), “Chad P300B” monoblocks were developed. These have impressed audiophiles visiting the store and a review of them was newsworthy on “Stereonet” and was described as the “Big Buggers”.

Balanced Interconnect – “Angry”:
What a name!! With many customers pushing for quality balanced interconnects, “Angry” was developed early this year. Matched against Nordost and a number of super expensive high end cables, “Angry” has surpassed its (over) rated opponents in its performance!! “Angry” has also found its way to Malaysian audiophiles.
To those audiophiles who have spent good money and are willing challengers, Audio Synergy  would always welcome your visit.

Power Cables:
To complement the “Angry” balance cables, the same was developed for the power chord which was pitched against the Annaconda!! Need we elaborate?

Till next time

NEWSLETTER – No. 1
Dated 1st February, 2008

We, at AUDIO SYNERGY, would like to use this space to highlight topics, systems, equipment, cables, etc. etc. which may be of interest to music lovers. Should you, as an enthusiast, wish to participate in any sort of a forum, we would entertain your input via our email, which we would then post into this section periodically.

To kick start this section is the topic of SPEAKER MODIFICATIONS!! “Why modify?” some may ask. Perhaps the contents of an email (dated 24/8/07) which we received, would explain just one (of many) music lover’s actions to modify his KRIX Euphonix Speakers!!

I wanted to let you know how well the speakers are sounding now that they have burnt in.

I have to say your modifications have really opened up the sound stage immensely. Listening to Norah Jones – Come away with me (SACD 2 channel) the sound is wonderful. The detail and dynamics that is present is much more than I expected. These speakers are 7 years old. They sound totally different like a new pair of speakers.

Before your upgrade I was thinking of spending a lot of money on new speakers listening to B&W and MS at a budget of around $5,000 a pair. The upgrade investment was well worth it. After your modifications there is no way I could justify that sought of expense.

Regards
Paul S.

The modifications involved a change of the capacitors and rewiring. It is also important to relocate the crossover away from excessive vibrations!!

The capacitors we used were HOVLAND and a blend of other capacitors, to give a proper tonal balance.
